The Hearts and Hands Behind Pixie Park

Pixie Park—originally known as "Pixie Place"—was built on a foundation of love, community, and extraordinary generosity. Every time we play, we celebrate the legacy of these instrumental founders:

• Sepha and Albert Evers: With deep love and remembrance, donor Sepha and architect Albert Evers created our beautiful Pavilion in honor of their son, Lt. Albert John Evers. It remains a cornerstone of our park’s history.
• Mrs. Elizabeth Terwilliger & Dorothy Erickson: Our visionary founders who saw the need for a safe, joyful space for children to flourish.
• Mrs. Norman B. Livermore: A true champion of our mission! Her unwavering faith and constant support gave Pixie Parents the resources needed to enlarge and improve the playground for everyone.
• The John Terry Family: In 1955, this kind family donated our charming Play Playhouse, a favorite spot for imaginative play for decades.
• Robert Royston: The renowned architect who generously donated his time and expert labor to design the plans for our original expansion, giving the park its unique and artistic flair.
• The Family and Friends of Dr. Kerr: In 1959, this group came together to finance the construction of our beloved Sandbox Area, where countless memories have been made.
• Elizabeth Jessen: A dedicated supporter whose contributions helped shape the park we love today.
• The American Association of University Women (Marin Branch): We owe a debt of gratitude to the AAUW, who took on the incredible task of formulating Pixie Playground and bringing the community together.
• Jean Ecker & Jean Marchant: Special thanks to these leaders from the AAUW Child Study Group, who were right there at the beginning in 1952, dreaming up what "Pixie Place" could become.

To all of our founders, donors, and early supporters: Thank you! Your spirit of giving lives on in every giggle and every discovery made under the redwoods today. We are so grateful to be part of the story you started!
